Thank you to all who attended the Cooper Landing Trails and Walkable Community Open House on August 20th. There were 50-60 people who joined the information presentation, viewing of the newly written Pitch Deck and Story Map. Those present were given a QR code to view the whole Story Map and a link will be made from the cooperlandingtrails.org website shortly. With a scrumptious potluck meal one their plates, attendees wandered the community Hall reading about the Sterling Highway MP 45-60 Project and how it impacts the Walkable Community Project e.g. there will be roughly two new miles of separated walking/biking pathway built from MP 45-47. We asked folks to read about our project, comment on what they felt also needed to be yet addressed, where do they want to reach via a pathway, how far are they willing to go by bike or by foot? A charette will be held later this month. Community members are encouraged to reacquaint or become acquainted with the Walkable Community Project before attending. Much information is available on our website. Watch the Crier and postings around town for the dates of the upcoming charette. (Charette definition.: A meeting in which all stakeholders in a project attempt to identify and resolve differences and map solutions.) Some of the Trails equipment was on display including thank yous to those that helped purchase the various pieces.
